World Environment Day

Sarasas Ektra School conducted World Environmental Day activities during June 2018 to raise students’ awareness of world’s existing natural resources and to fortify students’ competence within each subject group.

Activities were organised under the theme “Environment”, and content was integrated from different subject groups across the curriculum.

Both primary and secondary students submitted their work to different contests, both solo and team. The contests included drawing and painting, slogan making, Thai and English speech, Real Fan (??), and presentation. In the presentation contest, lower secondary student set up a group for brainstorming about environmental conditions in different continents and presented their material in different forms such as VDO clip, drama, talk show, and so on. (The group whose VDO clip wins will be broadcast in the school’s website.) Additionally, primary students also helped clean classrooms. Lower secondary students also learned how to calculate the electricity and water bills for their own homes so that they are aware of efficient use of energy. Furthermore, MI students also had a chance to set up different learning stations throughout the month, including mushroom growing, medicinal herb plantation, ecology, and natural substance extraction.

In this academic year, School provided a longer time for Environmental Day activities than past years. Different activities were organised in accordance with Multiple Intelligences Theory. Students had a greater amount of time to display their abilities and to learn how to use our world's natural resources sustainably.
