October Camps 2018

   
                  Sarasas Ektra School organized October Camp 2018 during October 8th to 12th. The aim of the camps was to give students opportunities to increase their knowledge and spend their free time usefully. Activities in the camp focused on learning from surrounding things and different real places. Details of the activities were as follows.

 

1. Think Fast Theme : At one with Nature
            

                 This camp was for KG 1 to KG3 students. Students got a chance to learn from their surroundings and nature through various activity stations which included 1) Little Einstein – exploring knowledge through scientific methods, 2) Math and Logical Thinking – stimulating thinking skills, logic, and calculation, 3) Creative Arts – developing creativity and imagination, and 4) Little Chef – learning uses of nature to create various menus. Furthermore, students also participated in a field trip with a parent at Urban Forest Learning Center at Sukhapiban 2.

2. First Step Camp


                 This camp was the preparatory camp for students in nursery level who are currently enrolled in Semester 2. The aim of the camp was to give the students a foundation and help them get familiarized with their teachers and new friends. In this camp, the students practiced drawing and coloring, did some collages, molded dough into shapes, made fruit salad and banana smoothie, and explored their surroundings. For instance, exploring the environment around the school, observing various kinds of trees, and planting some trees.

3. Art For kid Camp

                

             This camp was for KG 1 to KG3 students. The students had a chance to create various kinds of artistic products in the form of drawing and coloring, mixing colors, and painting bags, pencil cases, and water bottles. The aim of these activities was to support the students’ concentration and to develop their creativity and imagination.

4. Back to Nature Camp (Green Family Road Trip)

 

               This camp was for students in Years 1 to 3. The camp aimed to help students learn to live harmoniously with nature. A field trip to the Urban Forest Learning Center (at Sukhapiban 2) was also included in the camp. Furthermore, the students also learned about organic farming at Rai Plook Rak in Ratchaburi Province. In this trip, a parent of each student could join. Students learned a lot about their natural surroundings through various activity stations, such as Games from Green, Healthy Fried Fancy Vegetables, Making Herbal Drinks, Science Lab, Happy Family Picture Frames, Story Telling, Medicinal Trees and Herbs Plantation, and Making Tray Gardens.

5. Back to Nature Camp
    

 

           This camp was for students in Years 4 to 6. The students had a chance to learn about ecosystems, mangrove conservation, nature-dependent rural ways of life, and medicinal plants including products from medicinal plants, chemical-free vegetables, tray gardens (ecosystem imitation), healthy food, and making Thai dessert with banana leaves.

            Students also had field trips to four different places:

                        o The Rice School and Farmers Learning Center (King’s Initiative Project)
                        o Herbal Incense House (learning rural ways of life)
                        o Bang Kra Chao Garden (learning how to make dyed cotton), and
                        o The Mangrove Learning Center at Bangkhunthien (exploring nature).

6. Happy Wanderer Returns Camp

 

           This camp was for students in Years 7 to 10. The camp was organized during October 8th to 10th , 2018 (3 days and 2 nights) at Supalai Pa Sak Resort and Spa in Saraburi Province. In this camp, the students were able to explore nature from actual places, such as activities stations at the Organic Life Project, agritourism at the Thai -Danish Milk Farm, and exploring nature at Pa Sak Jolasid Da. Students both learned and relaxed in this camp enjoying fun recreational activities.
