Year 9 Camp

School organisedWe Are Ektra 2017 Camp for our Year 9 students. The activity was held over 3 days and 2 nights from 8th -10th December 2017 at Puek Tian Youth Camp, Petchaburi Province.  There were three main activities, as below.

Excursion

The students visited two interesting places. First, they went to Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park (Khao Wang). They listened to a lecturer, learnt more about the history of the park, and were taken on a tour to important places in the park. Second, they visited the Sirindhorn International Environmental Park, and gained a better understanding of the importance of mangrove forests. The lecturer also demonstrated how to release sea bass and blue crabs into the water. The students concentrated when doing this activity, and felt proud to do things by themselves. They could be one of the small influences that help to conserve aquatic animals and mangrove forests.

Beach Sports Games

At Puek Tian Youth Camp the students organised some beach sports competitions such as Tug of War, and Transporting Seawater through Obstacles etc. The students played their hearts out, and the atmosphere was filled with smiles, laughter, cheers from the teachers and students, and a lot of fun.

Team Building Activity

In this activity the students cooperated with one another to complete the missions assigned at different bases. This enabled them to practise planning and solving unexpected problems. Everyone was committed and tried to help their team to accomplish the goals together.

From participating in the abovementioned activities, the students have gained more knowledge in terms of history as well as nature like mangrove forests. They have also contributed to the project to conserve marine species. Furthermore, they have enhanced their life skills, and learnt to live in harmony, with patience, sacrifice, and generosity to their friends and teachers.
