Sarasas Ektra School was honored by a visit from Professor Dr. Angel Lin of the University of Hong Kong on Monday 18th August 2014. Professor Lin is an expert in bilingual education trends for South East Asian countries. She presented a 3 hour seminar and workshop on CLIL: Content and Language Integrated Learning. Simply put, CLIL is how teachers can use subjects such as Mathematics, Science and Social Studies to teach English language. The seminar was attended by foreign teacher coordinators from all departments along with our Thai English teachers, in total about 30. The workshop and seminar benefited our Thai and foreign teachers by making them aware of:
          :: Specific types of writing formats associated with different subjects.
          :: Language patterns which are common to particular subjects.
          :: How points of grammar can be taught when teaching those subjects.
          :: A common corpus of words always used with Maths or Science or Social Studies.
          It was an enjoyable and informative presentation culminating in Mr. Pisut Yongkamol, our school Director, presenting Professor Lin with a gift in appreciation of sharing her knowledge and expertise with our teachers.
